Language training

Group/Individual

Whenn we consider studying a language, we usually have to choose between doing it individually or in a group.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of these two modalities?

Interlang Classes

Individual

Advantages

  • Individual classes are recommended for beginners who want to get a solid foundation in the language in a short time. One-to-one classes allow the teacher to focus all their attention on the individual student’s needs and adjust the pace of the classes according to the student’s ability and the time they have to dedicate to the language outside the classroom.
  • The participant makes better use of the time and progresses more quickly.
  • It is a good option if the goal is to prepare for an exam or internal promotion. Individual classes make it possible to focus on a participant’s weak points, for example, written skills or oral fluency.
  • Individual classes are also recommended to prepare for interviews, meetings and presentations.

Disadvantages and drawbacks

  • Classes can be less dynamic

Interlang Classes

Groups

Advantages

  • In group classes, the participants are required to interact with each other and they are enriched by the contributions of their peers.
  • These classes are more dynamic.

Disadvantages

  • If there are many students in the class and/or the level of the group is not homogeneous, the effectiveness of the language training can be compromised.
